About Blooming
Blooming is a marketplace for objects made by hand. Each Volume — gathered season by season — brings together a small number of pieces from makers who work quietly, slowly, and with care. Some are functional, some are decorative, all are made one at a time by people who know the materials they're using.
A note from the curator
Spring Volume · MMXXVI
When we began Blooming, we wanted to make a place that felt less like a store and more like a small library — where each piece is given its own page, each maker their own chapter, and where the seasons turn with the slow ceremony they used to in catalogues posted by hand.
Every piece you'll find here is gathered with that in mind. We choose makers whose work feels considered, whose materials are honest, and whose pieces ask to be lived with rather than consumed. There is no algorithm. There is no infinite scroll. There is a small catalog of objects, a few makers, and the next Volume already in the planning stages.Sometimes a thing is better for being small.
If you find something here that feels right, we hope you'll keep it for a long time. If nothing speaks to you this season — the next Volume opens with the next.Patience, also.
With care,
— Blooming
The Volumes
Blooming publishes a new Volume each season — four times a year. Each Volume features a curated set of pieces from a small group of makers. Volumes remain open through their seasonal window, then close to make room for what's next.
For makers
If you make things with care and slowness, and you wonder whether your work might belong here, we would love to hear from you. Write to hello@bloomingbynathalie.com with a few photographs and a note about how you work.
